New Mexico Has Joined the IMLC — Implementation in Progress
New Mexico has passed legislation to join the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, but implementation is still in process — the state is not yet processing IMLC applications. Until New Mexico's board is operational on the compact, a single-state New Mexico medical license is the available path. We'll move you to the IMLC pathway as soon as it goes live.
New Mexico signed IMLC legislation in February 2026, but compact implementation is still rolling out — the New Mexico Medical Board and Board of Osteopathic Medicine are not yet processing IMLC applications.
