Overview

Getting your New Hampshire medical license? Here's exactly what you need to know so you can focus on practicing, not paperwork.

Who issues your license

New Hampshire licenses physicians through the Board of Medicine inside the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. FCVS is mandatory for every applicant. There is no primary source, only alternative. New Hampshire is a fully participating IMLC state, and the compact pathway is dramatically faster than the standard single state timeline.

Eligibility requirements

You'll need a degree from an accredited medical school and at least two years of ACGME or AOA-accredited postgraduate training. International medical graduates must complete their training in a US ACGME-accredited program. Canadian RCPSC training alone is not automatically accepted for IMGs. FCVS is required for every applicant without exception.

How to apply

Applications go through the OPLC physician portal or the FSMB uniform application. Start your FCVS profile at least five months before your intended start date. There is no expedited single state option at OPLC. Applications are processed in the order received.

What it costs

The initial application fee is three hundred and eighty-five dollars. FCVS adds roughly four hundred and twenty-five dollars, bringing the real minimum to about eight hundred and ten dollars. Biennial renewal is two hundred and twenty dollars.

How long it takes

Expect twelve to twenty weeks for a full license through the standard pathway, one of the longer state timelines. The IMLC pathway is dramatically faster, typically two to four weeks. Apply at least five months in advance for the standard path. The delays we see most often: FCVS not started early enough. A new profile takes several weeks and must precede OPLC submission. International medical graduates whose training was outside a US ACGME-accredited program. And the biennial renewal date being tied to the original issuance date, not a calendar year. Easy to miscalculate. WhiteGlove handles your New Hampshire application from start to issued license.
