You'll need a degree from an accredited medical school and at least one year of post-graduate training for US graduates, three years for international medical graduates.
How to apply
You'll use the FSMB Uniform Application with an active FCVS profile required for most applicants. The five hundred and eighty dollar application processing fee bundles the application, background check, and databank report, and it is non-refundable. The FSMB Uniform Application is submitted first, then the LLR application is completed through the LLR online portal. The board allows fifteen business days for initial application review after a complete file is received. Real-world timelines for domestic graduates run three to five and a half months. Budget at least eight hundred and forty dollars: five hundred and eighty for the application processing, two hundred dollars for the initial license after board approval, and sixty dollars for the FSMB Uniform Application.
What it costs
Biennial renewal is two hundred dollars. A one hundred dollar late fee is added if renewal is filed after expiration.
